STERLAB develops their product in recently installed facilities of 100 m², in accordance with ISO 9001 norm, backed by a team experienced in the fields of tissue engineering and cell toxicology. Specialized in the production and distribution of alternative solutions for the cosmetic industry, the company is in the “me-too” validation process with OECD in order to revise the Test Guideline n° 439 related to the testing procedure of in-vitro skin irritation on reconstructed human tissues.

Consecrated to answering a manifold need for satisfying and reliable quality tests, STERLAB has elaborated a large scope of reconstructed tissue models, compliant with ISO 9001/V2015, including Skin+® reconstructed epidermis, full thickness skin, “psoriasis like” epidermis or oral epithelium.

In addition, affected by the request of numerous companies and in a completeness and improvement approach of their solutions, STERLAB now offers ex-vivo skin samples acquired after cosmetic surgery. A non-exhaustive list of said tissues comprises full-thickness or dermatomized skin in a variety of customized formats, provided from neonatal foreskin or adult skin.

Applications of ex-vivo tissue samples include compound penetration, skin irritation, genotoxicity, sensitization tests, metabolism studying and primary cell isolation (kératinocytes, melanocytes and fibroblasts).
