in-cosmetics Global Returns to French Capital for First in-person European Event in Three Years

1 February 2022

After a long-anticipated wait, in-cosmetics Global, the world’s leading personal care ingredients show will return to Paris, France this April for its first physical European event in three years. With an all-new hybrid format, the exhibition will open at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles from 5-7 April 2022 to reunite the industry for a much sought after opportunity to connect face-to-face and source the latest innovations in person, with a virtual follow-up event scheduled to run from 11-22 April. Registration is now open for both the in-person and virtual events.

The cosmetics and personal care industry has faced a tumultuous 24 months, with significant disruption seen on a global scale. However, demonstrating the industry’s resilience, many cosmetic and personal care brands found a new way to thrive in the ‘new normal’, prioritising production lines most in need – such as hand sanitisers and cleaning agents. Today, as society reopens, brands are reassessing the industry landscape, embracing the trends that have accelerated while assessing those that have gained new ground.

Returning to in-cosmetics Global, more than 400 leading personal care ingredient suppliers are among those confirmed to exhibit in Paris this April. This includes BASF Personal Care and Nutrition GmbH, Croda Europe Ltd, Ashland Industries Europe GmbH, Clariant, Lubrizol, Symrise and Evonik. While Activen SA, agroCO2, ARDA Natura and Bio-Gate AG will join the exhibitor line-up for the first time.

Test and try new product launches

Helping cosmetic formulators and R&D specialists discover the latest ingredient launches to transform new product development, the show’s popular product areas will also return at a critical time. One of the most popular features of the show, the Innovation Zone will profile raw materials that have hit the market within the last six months. Sponsored by Ashland, the zone will highlight a variety of materials available to give new finished products an innovative edge.

Elsewhere on the show floor, the in-cosmetics Sensory Bar will profile new and invigorating sensations whether that’s evocative fragrances, opulent flavours or transforming textures. The Make-Up Bar will offer inspiration for the next generation of colour cosmetics, showcasing the innovative pigments and technologies available to enhance product shades and hues. Finally, the Sustainability Corner, sponsored by AAK, will promote the latest sustainable raw materials, and advancements helping cosmetic and personal care brands meet their sustainability goals.

Furthermore, additional dedicated zones on the show floor will bring together suppliers from the same sector or geographical region. Demonstrating specialist sector insights, the Fragrance Zone will welcome leading fragrance suppliers, including Eurofragrance, Ibertchem S.A, Technicoflor and Vioryl. Sponsored by International Fragrance Company, MG – in alliance with Firmenich – it offers the aromatic components needed to elevate personal care formulations.

For those attendees looking for the equipment to bring new product developments to life, the events Lab Zone will offer attendees a first-hand look at the latest lab equipment trends. While the Testing and Regulation Zone, sponsored by PhD Trials, offers lab equipment specialists the chance to offer a deep dive into the latest trends from suppliers including PhD Trials Coptis Software Solutions, Delfin Technologies, Ithos Global and proderm.

Brands and ingredients will also be on show by location. The event’s nine country pavilions will capture the trends and innovations showcased by suppliers, spanning France, UK South Korea, Brazil, Spain, South Africa, Colombia, Peru and Tunisia.

Further opportunities to discover the latest products and meet with brands both established and new will come in the form of the show’s specialist tours and trails. Available in an all-new digital format, industry experts will help attendees navigate the event by topic in the dedicated R&D Tours, while the all-new Indie Trial will provide on-site visitors with the details of exhibitors who supply ingredients and support a small production in partnership with Formula Botanica. Designed to help indie brands connect with the suppliers most suited to their scale of production, it will drive efficiency ensuring every attendee can get the most out of their time in Paris this Spring.

Inspiring trends: a chance to learn and challenge

Recognised for providing access to the industry’s foremost thought leaders, the in-cosmetics Global conference programme will offer technical insights and market intelligence into the latest trends. From a focus on sustainable beauty in the Sustainability Corner to exclusive presentations by raw material suppliers in the Technical Seminars, a full programme of in-person sessions will offer a comprehensive look at the latest trends backed by scientific evidence. A full schedule of topics and speakers is now available on the in-cosmetics Global website.

Bringing together talented formulators and R&D specialists, the Formulation Lab will once again offer carefully curated sessions to help attendees learn new formulation technology. Sponsored by Brenntag, the sessions are open exclusively to R&D professionals from cosmetic or contract manufacturers.

A new hybrid approach

Following feedback from attendees at in-cosmetics events held online over the past 24 months, this year’s in-cosmetics Global will take a new hybrid approach to learning and sourcing with a combination of in-person and digital opportunities. Designed to complement the in-person experience, the virtual event will allow attendees to continue the conversation and catch up on seminar sessions missed at the show.

This means after three packed days of in-person innovation, in-cosmetics Global will open its virtual doors to the industry from 11-22 April. Here, attendees can discover the digital counterparts to selected in-person show features. In addition, all new learning opportunities via the event’s Marketing Trends seminar programme will offer attendees access to the latest industry trends, facts, figures, market analysis, and research data.

Speaking about the return to Paris, Roziana Zulkifli, Event Director, in-cosmetics Global, said:

“After three years of virtual in-cosmetics events in Europe, we’re excited to get back to Paris to reconnect the industry face-to-face. Over the past few years, we’ve witnessed a growing appetite for in-person networking and collaboration. It’s why this year, our emphasis is firmly on providing a safe and secure environment for the industry to do business.  This includes three days of busy in-person sourcing and networking, and for the first time in the show’s history, a follow-up virtual event that will extend the opportunities to collaborate and learn. We are counting down the days, looking forward to a triumphant return to Paris and excited to welcome the industry as they join us.”
